A place, part childhood memory,
part present, a dreamlike reality
where clouds float, flowers grow,
tramps sleep, and truckers truck.
My art takes you on a road trip
through a southerners mind,
exits for gas off the freeway of
contemporary art, and never
bothers to get back on. It's
content to stay on the back
roads exploring the tide pools
of culture.
Where good things can and
still do happen. A biker changes
a stranded family's tire at
sunset, a trucker eats a meal of
bacon and eggs with ladies of
questionable repute, a tramp naps
happily while speeding trucks
pass over head and where even a
parking lot brawl will probably
be remembered as a good time.
